Pargro and the environment Pargro stonewool is a natural product spun from melted diabas stone. Diabas stone is available in very large amounts. Furthermore our process expand the volume of the stone up to 90 times. The roots grow willingly in the stonewool, and they suck up optimum amounts of water and nutrients from the substrate. When comparing with growing a crop in soil, growing in Pargro stonewool saves considerable quantities of water, fertiliser, energy and pesticides. Several trials show, that growing vegetables on Pargro stonewool is a gentle and environmental friendly method to produce vegetables of high quality.
